HPS Announces Launch of Cast Resin Transformers

GUELPH, ON (October 2, 2013) – Hammond Power Solutions (HPS) is excited to launch their new line of cast resin transformers, the HPS EnduraCoil™.

The HPS EnduraCoil™ is designed and constructed to maximize the transformer’s performance in harsh environments.  A complement to HPS’ VPI offerings, these cast resin transformers are CSA Certified and suitable for the most challenging commercial and industrial applications, generally found in data centers, marine, petrochemical and pulp and paper industries.

The coils of the HPS EnduraCoil™ are formed with mineral-filled epoxy that is reinforced with fiberglass and cast to provide complete, void-free resin impregnation throughout the entire insulation system.  This innovation allows greater electrical dependability and additional resilience.  HPS EnduraCoil™ provides better short-circuit withstand performance.

Designed for indoor or outdoor applications, the HPS EnduraCoil™ is available up to 34.5 kV Class and 50 or 60 Hz.  Winding formats for the HPS EnduraCoil™ are as follows:

• primary cast / secondary cast
• primary cast / secondary VPI

In addition a selection of copper or aluminum conductor material is offered.
